Historical
From 1878 to 1920, the students were attending the Madawaska Training School but in 1920, a high school department was added to the MTS giving full four years of high school. There were sixteen students in the freshman and sophomore years when it opened in 1920.The high school was administered by the State Education Department until 1927. It was then given to the town of Fort Kent to be administered and the school was officially known as Fort Kent High School. In 1949, the school was established as the local Community School District, the first in the State of Maine. In 1963 SAD #27 was formed in order to provide for broader educational development and to benefit from state financial aid.
