Joella Paradis quilt
Scope and Contents
One white quilt with red flowers and green leaves on the front. The back was made using a flower print pattern and swirling stitches on either side of the quilt. An extra run of this flower printed fabric measuring 20.5 x 98 inches was also donated along with the quilt.

Biographical / Historical
During the Korean War the applique was done by Joella Voisine while her future husband was serving overseas. The quilt was not completed until October 20, 2024 (a difference of 71 years).
The unfinished quilt was in storage for many years. After Joella was married and bringing up her family, the quilt was in storage and moved from Fort Kent to Eagle Lake and then back to Fort Kent. Eventually when her vision became worse, she decided to take it out of storage. The stained spot had appeared during the long years.
After contacting several people involved in quilting, Greta Jalbert volunteered to finish the quilt with Susan Corriveau doing the machine quilting. The quilt was donated in memory of Louis Gilbert (Jack) who died in Togus Maine in 1997 of Alzheimer's.
